Obituary of Margaret A. Davis

Margaret A. Davis, 90, peacefully passed away Monday May 11, 2015 at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell, MA. She was born February 10, 1925 in Milton NY, daughter of Edwin Kinns and Mabel LaGrange. Margaret was a lifelong resident of South Westerlo, NY where she lived with her late husband, Winfred, until ill health forced them to move to an assisted living facility in Albany. When her husband passed away in 2008, she moved to Massachusetts to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She was a stay at home wife and mother while her children were in school. In the early 1960's she was elected Town Clerk of the town of Westerlo, a position she held for 22 years. She later took a position as an administrative assistant for the Albany County Highway Department which she held for over 20 years, retiring in 1990. Margaret will be remembered by many for her warm hospitality, always having the coffee pot on and cookies or cake to go with it. She was predeceased by her husband, Winfred Davis, and all of her 5 siblings. She is survived by her son, Dain, of Puerta Vallarta, Mexico; daughter Sandra Day and her husband Richard of Kennebunkport, Maine; grandchildren, Scott O'Keefe and his wife Patricia, Stacey O'Keefe, and Danielle Notini, great-grandchildren, Kasey, Matthew and Molly O'Keefe; and her life long friend Peggy Bishop. A memorial service honoring Margaret and Win will be conducted on Saturday, May 30 at 2 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville.
