Obituary of Joyce Peterson

Joyce Louise Peterson (60) died at The Northeast Center for Special Care on May 5, 2015. Joyce was the daughter of the late Violet (Poultney/VanHoesen) Lorett and Riley (Jake) Van Hoesen. Joyce grew up living with her family in a home on the Oak Hill Farm (Poultney) in Oak Hill, N.Y. She graduated from Greenville Central School. Joyce is survived by daughters: Jolene Hay of Canajoharie and Renee (Walker) Posey of Denver, CO, son David (Ailin) VanHoesen of Germany and brother Howard (Patricia) Van Hoesen of East Durham, grandchildren: Jillian Hay (Todd Lippincott), Jamez, David, and William Hay, Siena Walker; step-grandchildren: Quinton, Alawna; great-granddaughter Lena Lippincott, step great-grandchildren Elijah and Laniyah as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her sister Barbara (Van Hoesen/Maxwell) Case and nephew Arthur Maxwell. She did enjoy reminiscing of happier days on the farm with her grandparents horse Topsy and pony Powder Puff. She avidly wrote – copying biblical verses, names, all sorts of miscellaneous information. Joyce had many struggles during her life and we pray that she is now at peace. A graveside service was held at the Oak Hill Cemetery on Friday, May 8, 2015 under arrangements by Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, NY.
