Beverly J. Ringwald Obituary
GLENMONT – Beverly J. Ringwald, 87, passed away at home on Good Friday, April 3, 2015, surrounded by her family. Born in Saugerties on October 15, 1927, she was daughter of the late Harold and Mary Alice Freeman Van Voorhis, and wife of the late Arthur C. Ringwald, who died on Palm Sunday in 1992. Years ago, Beverly worked as an electronics assembler at IBM in Kingston. More recently, she and her family resided in Coeymans Hollow for 30 years, and she has resided in the Van Allen Apartments in Glenmont since 2003. Beverly was a very active member of the United Methodist Church of Greenville & Norton Hill, and of UMW.
Beverly is survived by her daughters, Mary Beth Nault and Amelia (Ken) Scarlata; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marjorie Van Voorhis and Dorothy Lounsbury; nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly was predeceased by all of her siblings, Homer, Milton, Robert, Harold "Eddie" and Shirley Van Voorhis.
Calling hours will be Thursday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be Friday, 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Greenville & Norton Hill, 5830 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, Coxsackie.
