Obituary of Susan J. Goldberg

GREENVILLE – Sue O'Donnell Hotter Goldberg, 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 7, 2015 at The Pines in Catskill. Born on August 3, 1916 in Harlem, NY to the late John and Margaret (O'Brien) O'Donnell, she lived in the Bronx until 1986 when she then moved to Greenville. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and a member of the Greenville American Legion Unit 291 Ladies Auxiliary. While down in the City, she was a nightclub singer known as Sue O'Donnell, "The Singing Colleen". Sue ran benefits for hospice while in the City as well as in the Albany area. She is predeceased by her parents; her husbands, Bernard Hotter and Irwin Goldberg; and her siblings, Edward, John, Neil, Anne Nigro, William, James, Vincent, Robert and Margaret Klages. Sue is survived by her son William J. Hotter; her grandsons, William Paul, Eric John (Beth), Christian Matthew (Yana), Michael John (Megan Prokorym), and Daniel Joseph Hotter (Elisabeth); her great-grandchildren, Stephanie Budach, Elyse McLure, Stephen Hotter-Glass, Simone and Sabine Hotter, Emily and Hannah Hotter; and her great-great-grandchildren Elijah and Jadyn Devour. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2015 from 4 to 7pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home 4898 State Route 81 Greenville, NY 12083. There will be a funeral service at the funeral home at 11am the following day, Thursday March 12th. Burial will take place in the spring.
