WESTERLO - Clifton J. "Sonny" Dutton, 74, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in St. Peter's Nursing & Rehab Center. Sonny was born March 1, 1940 in Albany, son of the late James and Margaret Flagler Dutton. Sonny attended Berne-Knox Westerlo School. As a child, Sonny was a loud trouble maker and a prankster type boy of his class. He was not interested too much in school. He was the middle child in the family. At home his chores were feeding his dog, Snapper, while his sisters sometimes cooked. He led a wonderful life full of friendship, relationship, and family. His first job was hauling milk; he then made truck driving his career of 20 years. He served his Country in the United States Army. Sonny is a Life Member, Past Director, and Past District Chief of the Westerlo Volunteer Fire Company. He also was Past Chief of Greenville Volunteer Fire Company. He loved to square dance and his favorite shows were Country Westerns. He enjoyed roller skating, horseback riding, and bowling.

Sonny is survived by his long-time companion, June Sherman; two children, Eric and Tammy Dutton; four grandchildren, Amber, Christopher, James, and Madison Dutton; two sisters, Charlene (Wayne) Teter and Marie Tucker; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Sonny was predeceased by one sister, Freda Theiss.

Calling hours will be Saturday, January 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by the funeral at 4 p.m. Spring burial will be in Westerlo Rural Cemetery.
