Obituary of Mildred Prelle

MEDWAY – Mildred Prelle, age 96, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Kaaterskill Care Center in Catskill, where she resided for the past 18 months. She was born September 16, 1918 in New York City, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Pawel Dobias. Mildred and her family moved to Floral Park, Long Island when she was young. In earlier years, Mildred worked as a commercial artist. She was a very talented designer of women's clothing. She moved to Hannacroix in 1955. Mildred was a member of the Medway Congregational Christian Church, New Baltimore Republican Club, and a founding member of the Medway-Grapeville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Mildred is survived by two nieces, Christine Dobias and Linda Locke, both of Connecticut. In addition to her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her husband, William C. Prelle; her son, William A. Prelle; and her brother, William F. Dobias. Friends may call at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. and are welcome to remain for the funeral at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the family plot in Greenville Cemetery.
