Obituary of Edward E. Boomhower
WESTERLO β Edward Ernest Boomhower Jr., a local legend known by "Ed, Eddie, Feathers, Feds, Boomer, Dad, Pops, and Duffy", passed away suddenly on Monday, September 29, 2014 at his son's residence. He was 78 years old. Born in Albany on March 4, 1936, he was son of the late Edward Ernest Boomhower and Helen Agnes Drozlek Boomhower. Feathers was a lifelong resident of Westerlo, and worked with his father on the family dairy farm. His father bought him a car in lieu of a salary, and Feathers was never beat in his '55 Chevy, although many tried. He was a 1953 graduate of Greenville Central School, and then attended Cornell University. He also worked as a truck driver, first as an owner/operator with his B Model Mack, then for Albany Asphalt & Aggregates. Feathers was a member of NRA and the Teamsters Union.
Feathers is survived by his sons, Bradley (Tracy) Boomhower and Curtis Frank Boomhower; four grandchildren, Bradley "Superman", Elizabeth "Lil' Bits", Jack, and Jesse; one brother, Dennis J. "Ding" Boomhower; ex-wife, Jeanette Zibura-Boomhower; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lolita Lynn Boomhower; his parents, Helen and Edward; and his brother, Curtis Lee Boomhower.
