Obituary of Peggy Anne Schwartz

GREENVILLE – Peggy Anne Schwartz, R.N., 57, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at her residence. Born on March 14, 1957 in Jersey City, NJ, she was daughter of the late Clarence Frederick Schwartz and Marie Anne Toner Schwartz. Peggy and her family moved to Greenville when she was 11 years old. She was a graduate of Greenville Central School, class of 1975. Peggy served in the United States Navy for 4 years and received an honorable discharge. She worked as a nurse's aide and became a licensed practical nurse in 1990. Peggy worked at the former Eden Park Nursing Home in Catskill, now The Pines, and became a registered nurse during her tenure there. She retired in 2009 due to health reasons. Peggy enjoyed boating and motorcycle riding, and spending time with her family. She loved animals, especially dogs. Peggy is survived by 13 siblings, Cathy (Dr. Alan) Lessner, Donna Connolly, Eileen (Steve) Spainhoward, Michael (Maureen) Schwartz, Thomas (Margaret) Raider, Richard Schwartz, Joann (Ray) Ward, William Newton, Chris (Robin) Schwartz, Fred Schwartz, James (Amy) Raider, Virginia (Dave) Barnett, and Theresa Ogden; 23 nieces and nephews, 12 great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her brother, Gary John Schwartz. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Greenville Cemetery.
