Obituary of Katharine E. Brink
DURHAM β Katharine E. Teator Brink, 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in East Durham on September 14, 1926, she was daughter of the late Olin and Grace Hallock Teator, and wife of the late Charles E. Brink, who she married on September 12, 1945. Mrs. Brink worked at the former Becker Electronics from 1956 until it closed, and then was employed at Stiefel Laboratories until she retired in 1992. She was a hard worker, in addition to helping to run the farm with her husband. Mrs. Brink was a member of the Durham United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three children, Bruce (Bonda) Brink, Ernest (Peggy) Brink, and Bonny (Andrew) Sattler; grandchildren, Brian (Delcia) Brink, Lori (Michael) Conners, Sherri Ormsbee, James Lyon, Daniel (Katrina) Lyon, Jennifer Lyon, Alicia (Shawn) Palmer, Holly (Devon) Morrison, Randy, Kevin and Keith Sattler; great-grandchildren, Emily Conners, Rachel Conners, Emiliana Brink, Brezney, Nicole, Andrew, Thomas and Cameron Lyon, Lucy and Ruby Palmer; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Carol E. Lyon; a grandson, Charles J. Lyon; three brothers, Robert, James and Bradley Teator and a sister, Martha Starr.
The funeral will be Wednesday, June 25 at 11 a.m. at the Durham United Methodist Church, 552 County Route 22 (at Route 145) Durham, followed by burial in West Durham Cemetery. The church will open at 10 a.m., prior to the service. Memorial donations to the church will be appreciated. Arrangements are by A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville.
