Obituary of Alan C. Bauder

SCHENECTADY – Alan C. Bauder, age 67, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at Kingsway Manor in Schenectady. Born in Johnstown on February 4, 1947, he was son of the late Alwyn and Geraldine Robinson Bauder. The family relocated to Bethlehem when Alan was 7 years old. He graduated from Bethlehem Central High School with the Class of 1965, and went on to attend the University of West Virginia, Worcester Junior College where he received an Associate's, and Empire State College, where he received a Bachelor's in Land Surveying Management. Alan was a private land surveyor, and worked for more than 30 years in the Office of General Services, Department of Submerged Lands Management, retiring in 2009. He also served as Westerlo Town Justice for more than 25 years, retiring in 2009. Alan was a member and Past President of the Westerlo Volunteer Fire Company, and Past Master of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge in Delmar. In younger years, he served as a coach for BKW Little League, and as a ranger for the youth stockade program at the First Baptist Church of Westerlo. Alan is survived by his wife, Sally Tice Bauder; his sons, Justyn (Melissa) Bauder and Chad (Kayla) Bauder; his grandchildren, Meghan, Joshua and Jayden Bauder; nieces, Amanda Grover Joseph and Melissa Ann Grover Raney. In addition to his parents, Alan was predeceased by his sister, Jan Grover Franklin. Alan was cremated privately. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, June 1, at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598 will be appreciated.
