WESTERLO – Lois Lounsbury, 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born on the family farm in West Berne on April 10, 1926, she was daughter of the late George and Grace Kniskern Weidman, and wife of the late Ernest Paul Lounsbury, who she married on June 16, 1946. He predeceased her on December 16, 2003. Lois was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, bird watching, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Lois especially enjoyed the many cruises she shared with her husband, Alaska being their all-time favorite. Lois is survived by her children, June Sherman, Joel (Valerie) Lounsbury, and E. Paul (Bernadette) Lounsbury Jr.; grandchildren, Jody Lounsbury (Meredith), Joel C.P. Lounsbury (Sally), Justin Lounsbury (Jessica), and E. Paul Lounsbury III; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Alexa, Dylan and Lucas. Calling hours will be Friday, May 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be Saturday, May 17 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Westerlo Rural Cemetery.
