Obituary of Nora P. Moynihan
OAK HILL – Nora P. Moynihan, 64, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 23, 2013 at her residence. Born in England on February 4, 1949, she was daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Murphy Moynihan. Nora, her parents, and her sister Ann came to the United States and settled in the Bronx. Nora lived in Brooklyn for many years and worked for several law firms as a paralegal. She retired and came to Oak Hill to care for her aging parents. She grew to love the area and its people. Nora loved living in the Catskill Mountains, with the beautiful views and the creek running behind her house. She enjoyed hiking in the Huyck Preserve. Nora was an animal lover – domestic and stray alike.
Nora is survived by extended family and friends, who will miss her greatly. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Ann M. Moynihan.
In keeping with Nora’s wishes, she has been cremated, and her ashes will be interred with her parents and sister in the family plot in Greenville Cemetery, at a later date. Memorial donations to AnimalKind, Inc., P.O. Box 902, or the Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 125 Humane Society Road, both in Hudson, NY 12534 will be appreciated. Arrangements by A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville. Light a candle at ajcunninghamfh.com.
