Obituary of Ann B. Tuohy

Ann B. Tuohy, most recently of East Durham, has passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19th 2013 after her battle with cancer. Born October 25th 1952 in Brooklyn, NY, Ann lived a full life, getting as much enjoyment out of her 61 years as possible. She lived in Brooklyn and the Bronx growing up, working for NYNEX for 25years before she retired. She then lived in California for a few years before returning to live in the Hudson Valley area of NY. She found a nice niche for herself when she settled in East Durham. Ann enjoyed reading and traveling, as well as going to Bingo and out dancing with family and friends. She is survived by her mother, Mary McGlynn of Surprise; her siblings: Jimmy and Billie Tuohy of Warwick; Mary and Richard Lally of Maybrook, their son Rich, his wife Jenny and their sons Timmy and Liam; Joe and Maureen Tuohy of Monroe, their children Michele, Alison, Joey and Jimmy; Eileen and James Coghlan of Wappingers Falls, their children James, Patrick, Kathryn, Michael and Sean; Nora Lally of Tampa Fl, her sons, Vinny and PJ; and Kevin and Francine Tuohy of Maybrook, their children Mary, Kevin and Patricia. Her Aunt, Anna Mullen of Greenville has always had a special place in her heart. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, step brothers and sister and their children, and cousins. She is predeceased by her father, Anthony Tuohy; her stepfather, Mike McGlynn; her brother Michael Tuohy; and her nephew Tony Lally. Ann had a generous heart and was a truly beautiful person. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and the many friends whose lives she touched. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Knock Shrine, 2052 State Route 145, East Durham.
