Obituary of Berneice A. Case

CONESVILLE – Berneice A. Van Wormer Case, 89, passed away Saturday evening, November 2, 2013 at her son’s residence after a long illness. Born in Blenheim on May 20, 1924, she was daughter of the late John and Rua Keyser Van Wormer, and wife for 69 years of the late Bradley H. Case, who predeceased her on October 21, 2013. Mrs. Case graduated from Roxbury Central School. She worked as a bookkeeper at General Electric in Schenectady during World War II. Following marriage, she resided in Conesville and wintered in Vero Beach, FL for several years. Mrs. Case was the bookkeeper for her husband’s farm and excavation business. She was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Conesville Volunteer Fire Company. Survivors include her son, Gary J. (Sharon) Case; grandchildren, Joseph (late Joyce) Case, Andrew (Shannon) Case, William Case, Farah (Jesse) Raeder and Robert (Adriana) Case; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Samantha and Gabriella Case; sisters, Frances Wilsey and Doris Wood. Mrs. Case was predeceased by two brothers, Peter and Alan Van Wormer. Calling hours will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Manorkill Rural Cemetery.
