Obituary of Everett E. Fancher

CONESVILLE – Everett E. “Sonny” Fancher, 67, passed away Saturday evening, November 2, 2013 at his residence, after a long illness. Sonny was born on June 24, 1946 in Stamford, son of the late Everett and Doris Warner Fancher. He was raised in Prattsville and graduated from Gilboa Central School. Sonny worked at General Electric in Schenectady before being drafted into the U.S. Army. He was discharged in 1972 with the rank of Sergeant. He then returned to GE and worked until he retired in 1999. Sonny was a member of the Gilboa Masonic Lodge and the Gilboa American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and hunting, going for rides in the car with his wife, following his grandchildren’s sporting events, and solving Sudoku games. Sonny is survived by his wife, Sharon M. Cammer Fancher; two sons, Brian (Karen) Fancher and Darren (Christina) Fancher; two grandsons, Dylan and Cole Fancher; two sisters, Audrey (John) Schmidt and Gloria (Kenneth) Wright; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Officers and members of Gilboa Masonic Lodge will conduct their ritual during calling hours. The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Gilboa Rural Cemetery.
