Obituary of Craig D. Van Nostrand

COLONIE – Craig D. Van Nostrand, 64, passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Buffalo on December 10, 1948, he is son of Albert Van Nostrand, Jr. and Darlene Day Van Nostrand. Craig suffered from epilepsy, but lived a full and productive life. He worked at Price Chopper in the Westgate Plaza for 15 years and at Macy’s in Colonie Center for two years. Craig was a member of an epilepsy support group. He looked forward to the monthly meetings to learn what was new, and how others were doing. In addition to his parents of Glenmont, Craig is survived by his life partner of 25 years, Diane R. Hausman, with whom he resided; his best friend, Jane Hotaling of Brewerton, NY; and his cat, Jerry. He was predeceased by his siblings, Brad and Lynn. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Westerlo Rural Cemetery, State Route 143, Westerlo, NY 12193 where his ashes will be buried in the family plot.
