MEDUSA – Rose T. Lynch Jardine, 81, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Limerick, Ireland on October 4, 1931, she was daughter of the late Michael and Agnes Neville Lynch. Rose came to Brooklyn at age 18 to live with her aunt. She met and married Richard J. Jardine and they raised their family in Brooklyn and on Long Island. The family moved to Medusa in 1967. Rose ran the store and was the office manager for her husband’s business, Rich’s Floor Covering in Greenville. They closed the business and retired in 1983. In retirement, Rose and Richard traveled across the country and enjoyed wintering in Florida. Rose was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Greenville and formerly served as a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed gardening and feeding the hummingbirds. Rose is survived by her children, Michael (Anna) Jardine, Thomas (Patti) Jardine, and Ann (Greg Magdalenski) Jardine; grandchildren, Shannon (Jamie) Reid, Michael Jardine, PFC Samuel Jardine, US Army, and Kelsey Jardine; great-grandchildren, Austin and Tanner Reid and Aiden Jardine; brother, Thomas (Annette) Lynch; dear friends, Gail and Victor LaPlante; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her husband, Richard J. Jardine on October 10, 2004, and her sister, Myra Kerley. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 4987 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by burial in Medusa Cemetery.
