RAVENA – Josephine C. Altimari Burns, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a long illness. Born in Coeymans on November 19, 1928, she was daughter of the late Michael and Frances Lent Altimari. Josie was a graduate of Ravena-Coeymans High School, class of 1947, and was a lifelong resident. Jo stayed home and raised the family while her husband worked multiple jobs to support them. Josie was a lifelong communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Ravena. Jo is survived by her devoted husband of over 64 years, Charles W. Burns; six children, Joann Firstiun (Carl), Charles Burns (Cindy), Linda Thron (Rick), Maryann Leonardo (Angelo Ventura), Debbie Marks (Joe), and Joseph Burns (Teri); 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Josie is predeceased by her sisters, Minnie Sorell, Rose Greco and Katherine Swartout. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
