Obituary of Rosemary E. Marino
EARLTON β Rosemary E. Marino, age 71, passed away on Saturday evening, April 6, 2013 at her residence after a long illness. Born in Lockport on January 12, 1942, she was daughter of the late Wright and Mary Hoover Ellis. Rosemary graduated from Star Point High School and the State University of New York at Potsdam in music theory. She later received her masters in childhood education at the State University of New York at Geneseo. She was a teacher for over 30 years in the Batavia City Schools in music and kindergarten and, following retirement, for 10 more years at Grapeville Christian School teaching elementary. Rosemary was an active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in East Durham and West Bethany Baptist Church while residing in Batavia. She was a pianist at both churches and had numerous piano students over the years.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 47 years, Richard O. Marino; three children, Rebecca (Christopher) Chmielewski, Mary Louise Marino (John Chapin), and Rich Marino; one grand-daughter, Noel (Nate) McKanna and one great-granddaughter, Zoe Mae; three brothers, Wright (Jeannine), Charlie (Sheri) and Jim (Lynn) Ellis; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been performed privately. Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service on Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 127 Stone Bridge Road Ext., East Durham, NY 12423.
