SOUTH WESTERLO - Robert M. O'Neill, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Manhattan on May 4, 1954, he is the son of Gabrielle Cuinot O'Neill and the late Bernard P. O'Neill. Robert grew up in Bellerose, Queens. He was employed by Consolidated Edison, the Wire Lather's Union and the New York City Sanitation Department, retiring on disability in 1990. He moved to South Westerlo in 1996, and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion of Greenville Post 291. He enjoyed fishing and was an animal lover, especially his dog, "Penny Mittens". Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Nancy J. O'Neill; two daughters, Kristie L. and Gabrielle E. O'Neill; two brothers, Daniel and James O'Neill. Calling hours will be Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Westerlo Rural Cemetery.
