Obituary of Jayna Elizabeth Whitbeck

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Jayna Elizabeth Whitbeck on Monday January 6, 2025, in the Albany Medical Center due to a bacterial infection. Born on August 14, 1985. Jayna’s life was a journey marked by love and kindness yet overshadowed by her lifelong struggle with addiction. Her journey was one filled with ups and downs, and while her choices often led to pain, they also served as a reminder of the importance of compassion and understanding. Despite Jayna’s best intentions, her battles with substance led to insurmountable challenges in her relationships. Jayna’s life story is a reminder of the complexities of addiction and its impact on those we love. While she faced many difficulties, we hope that her memory serves as a call for understanding for those affected by similar struggles.
Jayna is survived by two sons whom she loved to the moon and back, her life partner, parents, sister, aunts, uncles, extended family, and a community of friends that loved her very much. In accordance with the wishes of her family, there will be no funeral service. We encourage everyone to remember Jayna for the moments of fun, joy, and love that she brought into the world and find solace in the belief that she is now in a better place. Rest in peace, Jayna. You are loved. While your life was filled with struggles, we hope that your memory encourages reflection on the importance of compassion and support for those affected by addiction. You will be remembered, and your journey has not been in vain.
