 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Melany A. Deyo, age 45, of Cairo, who left us on Monday, December 16, 2024, at her residence. Born on December 6, 1979, in Hudson, Melany was a beloved daughter of the late Freleigh and MarieElena (née Desio) Deyo.

 Growing up in Earlton before moving to Cairo, Melany was known for her unwavering love for her family, cherishing every moment spent together. Her warmth and kindness extended beyond her family as she faithfully served for 15 years at Taconic DDSO, where she dedicated her life to helping those in need—a testament to her compassionate spirit. A true fan of classic horror movies, she found joy in the thrills and stories that brought a smile to her face.

In addition to her parents, Melany is predeceased by her dear sister, Grace Deyo, and her beloved nephew, Grayson Jones.

 She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, remembered fondly by her life partner, Donald Darran, and her cherished children: Selena (Mike) Salzer, Sydney (Elijah) Darran, Iciania (Anthony) Darran, Abagail (Logan) Darran, Julian Darran, and Carbury Darran. She is also survived by her loving sister, Darla (Eugene) Jones, brother, Scott (Michelle) Deyo, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

 Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, December 21st, from 2:00-4:00 PM at A. J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville.
