GLENMONT – James G. “Jim or Jimmy” Hillicoss passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Jim was born in Catskill on July 8, 1944, a son of the late Dean and Jennie Palmer Hillicoss. Jim attended Coxsackie-Athens Central School and resided in Coxsackie for most of his life, moving to Glenmont several years ago. He worked for many years as a quarry driver for Peckham Materials and Callanan Industries. He enjoyed camping at Lake George, vacations in Maine, spending time with his family, and feeling the pride of the many home projects he completed.

Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sheila; daughters, Shannon Gosse and Courtney Fremgen (Christopher); son-in-law, Curtis E. Segura; grandsons, twins Xavier and Valek Segura, and Curtis C. Segura; sister, Diana McGowan; brothers, Donald Hillicoss and John Hillicoss (Pam); sisters-in-law, Colleen Scott and Kathleen Spinnato (Salvatore III); numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Megan Segura; son-in-law, Ron Gosse Sr.; sister and brother-in-law, Deanna and Frank Van Schaack; brothers-in-law, William Scott III and Richard McGowan; sister-in-law, Carol Hillicoss; father and mother-in-law, Roy and Mildred McCafferty, whom he considered to be his second set of parents.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 29th from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will be at 12 noon, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. If desired, a memorial donation to the charity of your choice will be appreciated.
