Obituary of Patricia A. Tuey
**Obituary for Patricia Ann Tuey (Pat)**
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Tuey, affectionately known as Pat, who left this world peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at The Baptist Home at Brookmeade in Rhinebeck. Born on June 14, 1942, in the Bronx, Pat was a beloved daughter of the late Mary L. Deyo and Robert H. Sommer.
Her childhood was spent in Earlton, where she was raised and nurtured until high school. Pat pursued her education at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., laying
the groundwork for a life of dedication and service. After her time at the New York Telephone Company in Yonkers, she embraced a career at IBM in Kingston as a key punch operator, all while finding joy in her role as a devoted wife and mother.
Later in life, she found fulfillment as a home health aide for U.S. Home Care, offering compassion and support to those in need. A devout Christian, Pat’s spirit was deeply intertwined with her love for family, gardening, and the beauty of nature. Those who knew her cherished her famously long walks and the warmth she brought into every space. At home, she doted on her beloved pup, Buddy, bringing joy to their shared moments.
Pat is predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Tuey, and her brother, Christian Sommer.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her three sons, Edward Tuey of Grandview, M.O., John Tuey of Hurley, and Kevin Tuey of Catskill, as well as her cherished daughter, Karen Shen of Clifton Park. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Sommer of Brooklyn, and her sister, Diane Dymond of Schroon Lake, alongside eleven adoring grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close.
In this time of sorrow, we remember Pat for the light she brought into our lives. Services will be private, entrusted to A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home.
We invite you to visit www.ajcunninghamfh.com to leave condolences or share your cherished memories and photos of Pat with the family.
Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
