Obituary of Rodney H. Haley

GREENVILLE - Rodney H. Haley (59) passed unexpectedly but peacefully at home on Friday, August 30th 2024.

Rodney loved his job as a Chief Lock Operator for the NYS Canal Corp. He had a wealth of knowledge that he enjoyed sharing with anyone who had an interest about the canals history and the antique equipment used to run his lock.

In addition to his job with canals Rodney also had a fifteen-yearlong DJing adventure with his wife. He loved music, cooking, gardening and making people laugh. Rodney loved nature, especially the eagles that he was always pointing out.

Left missing him are his wife Nikki, daughter Jessie (Isaac), mother Carolyn, mother-in-law Eileen, brother Bob (Laura), sister Sandra (Willy), nephews Zack & Greg (Sarah), nieces Denise & Cassandra. Also, his flock Popcorn & Buddy. Rodney was predeceased by his father Jack, his nephew Ben, and some very close friends.

            Services will be held on Saturday, September 7, from 4pm – 7pm at AJ Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville.

            Rodney's family will be collecting donations in his name for The Rensselaer Bird Center, 63 Washington St., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
