Obituary of Michelle M. Stangle
SELKIRK – Michelle VanAlstyne Stangle, 56, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends.
Michelle was born on July 29, 1967 in Albany. Known to her loved ones as “Shelly”, she graduated from Ravena Coeymans Selkirk High School and furthered her education at Hartwick College to fulfill a career in medical billing.
Shelly is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 32 years, Jeff Stangle; her daughter, Sara Stangle; her father, Kenneth (Donna) VanAlstyne; her mother, Marie Lang; her sister, Bobbi Jo VanAlstyne. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kenneth and Ruth VanAlstyne, Joseph and Dorothy Schampier.
Memorial calling hours to honor Shelly’s life will be held at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 9 Main Street, Ravena, on Sunday, June 2nd from 3 to 5 p.m., with a short service to follow.
