Ruth Kieszkiel Obituary
FREEHOLD – Ruth B. Kieszkiel, age 84, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. Born in Yonkers on Feb. 28, 1928, she was daughter of the late Michael and Emma Kokinchak Batroh, and wife of the late Stanley J. Kieszkiel, who predeceased her on Nov. 13, 2006. Ruth was a homemaker, and a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Greenville. She enjoyed playing dominos and was an avid crossword puzzler, and enjoyed trips to the Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham. Ruth was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She loved her friends, and was a friend to all she met.
Ruth is survived by her two children, Michele Kieszkiel (Robert Gorney) and Stanley J. Kieszkiel, all of Freehold, and two grandchildren, Jenna and Benjamin Kieszkiel. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was predeceased by her siblings, Irma, George and Michael “Buddy” Batroh.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 4987 State Route 81, Greenville. Spring burial will be in Freehold Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Columbia-Greene Humane Society, Community Hospice of Columbia-Greene, or St. John the Baptist Church will be appreciated.
