Obituary of Frank Aragona
East Durham- With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Frank Aragona, affectionately known as Mr. A. Throughout his 85 years, his visionary leadership and unwavering dedication have left an indelible mark on all who have had the privilege of knowing him.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Frank's journey was defined by a commitment to service. After earning a degree in engineering at the US Naval Academy, he served as a courageous helicopter pilot for nearly a decade, earning recognition in the National Naval Aviation Museum for his heroism. In 1961, he married his beloved wife, Claire, and their bond remained unbreakable throughout their lives.
Following his military service, Frank embarked on a new chapter, founding The Country Place Resort, and later Zoom Flume Water Park in the scenic Catskill Mountains. His innovative spirit and passion for creating unforgettable experiences were evident in every aspect of his endeavors. Today, his business legacy lives on through the dedication of his children and grandchildren.
Family was always at the forefront of Frank's life. He is survived by his cherished wife, Claire, their four children, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, all of whom he held dear to his heart. Frank peacefully passed away in his East Durham home, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, on Wednesday evening, February 21, 2024.
As we mourn the loss of a visionary leader, we also celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy that will endure for generations to come. Though Frank may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will forever inspire us, reminding us of the extraordinary man whose dreams continue to shape our reality.
