East Durham- Bonnie Jean Kearney “Bon Bon”, born June 25,1956 in Catskill, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Raised in Preston Hollow, and a graduate of Middleburgh Central School, Bonnie went on to work at Bryant’s in Greenville, where she met her husband of 48 years, Ronald Kearney. Bonnie and Ron have two children, Sandra, and Gregory.

Bonnie was a hands-on mother who could be found at all school functions, always a classroom volunteer, as well as a LOUD cheerleader for all sporting activities. She was a doting wife and mother and an all-around caring person. She had an energetic zest for life and a spirit that could light up any room, with her fun personality and contagious laugh. Bonnie was a true joy to all those who got the privilege to know her. To know her was to love her.

She enjoyed being a wife and mother, painting ceramics, picking strawberries, cooking, and baking pies. She was an amazing cook and an expert pie maker.

Aside from caring for her family and raising her children and working at Bryant’s, she also worked at the Grapeville Agency and Hallmark.

Bonnie was a 45-year member of the Norton Hill Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her parents James Dugas and Barbara Ray, stepfather Charles Ray, and Uncle Richard Norris.

Bonnie leaves behind her husband Ronald Kearney, daughter Sandra Kearney, son Gregory (Jennifer) Kearney, grandchildren Jackson and Hayden as well as two sisters Shirley and Jennifer and her stepmother Patricia Dugas.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to The American Cancer Society 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
