Keith Theodore Wood, 59 years, of Hannacroix.
Keith AKA "Bob Saget" Wood, lovingly known as Woody, was born on Wednesday, September 23, 1964, in Cobleskill, NY, to Kenneth Wood and Lillian Wood. He peacefully passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, in Hannacroix, NY, surrounded by his loved ones.
During his youth, Keith excelled as a pitcher for his high school baseball team, instilling in him a passion for sports that he passed down to his children. He was their biggest cheerleader, always present and supportive at every sporting event. Keith developed a love for hunting and trapping during his teenage years. This hobby continued into his adulthood, and he cherished every opportunity to engage in these activities with his father and brothers. In later years he also found immense pleasure in sharing these experiences with his son-in-law.
A warm and compassionate man, Keith always wore a hat, sunglasses, and a huge smile on his face, regardless of the circumstances. His infectious laughter and witty jokes brightened the lives of those around him. What made Keith truly special was his selflessness and non-judgmental nature. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.
Keith enjoyed attending beer festivals and concerts. On weekends, Keith could be found watching NASCAR or any sports-related event, as he had a deep passion for athletics. A man of routines, he took pride in vacuuming the house at 9 am, ensuring the vacuum lines were perfectly straight and everything was in its place. If you knew Keith you knew there was a right way to do it and there was His way, OCD much? For those who didn’t know Keith’s love for candy; you can thank HIM for keeping Twizzlers in business!
Keith was a dedicated father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He cherished his role as a father and was deeply committed to his two daughters, Riely, and Teller. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he found immense joy in spending time with them, especially his granddaughter, Aaliyah.
In addition to his daughter Riely (Stepheon) and granddaughter Aaliyah, daughter Teller (Lucas), Keith is survived by his mother, Lillian Ruth Wood, and his brothers, Alvin, and James (Tami) Wood. He also leaves behind a large extended family consisting of nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory. In addition, he leaves behind his companion Crysta.
When Keith was diagnosed with cancer, he faced the challenge head-on, refusing to let it define him. He exuded positivity, regardless of how he felt, and never allowed the small stuff to worry him. Keith lived and fought the disease on his terms, showing incredible strength and courage throughout his journey. His unwavering perseverance served as an inspiration to all who knew him. He embodied the words of Jim Valvano, who said, "If you Laugh, Think, and Cry, it was a heck of a day. If you do those 7 days a week, you're going to have something special."
Keith will be remembered as a great dad, whose love and kindness touched the hearts of many. His legacy will live on through his family and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Calling hours will be held at A. J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, NY, on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM. A spring burial will be held on Wednesday May 15, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
