Berne- Raymond “Ray” Wiedman 62, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday January 18, 2024, at his residence. He was born at Flushing Hospital in Queens on June 6, 1961 to Marie Cecile Nicastro Wiedman and the late Robert R. Wiedman. He grew up in Douglaston, Queens, went to St. Anastasia Elementary School and graduated from St. Francis Prep in Queens. Ray has been working for the United States Postal Service for the last 30 years.
Ray recently had to put down his dog Odin whom he loved very much. They were always together for the last 10 years, now they are back together, living in peace.
In addition to his mother Marie, Ray is survived by his sister Doreen “Dee”, brother Mark and his fiancée Melissa Butler, sister Linda and her husband Pat Gargul; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his father, Robert R. Wiedman, his sister Wendy Philby, and his uncle Wayne Wiedman.
Ray has been cremated privately. A celebration of his life will take place later this year. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Humane Society of your choice will be appreciated.
