Obituary of Michael A. Leppig
PRESTON HOLLOW – Michael Adam “Mike” or “Pig” Leppig, 56, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 2, 2024, at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Michael was born in the Bronx on April 2, 1967, a son of the late Ewald Adam Leppig and Barbara Scholer Leppig. He resided in Preston Hollow for most of his life and graduated from Greenville Central School. Michael worked for many years as a manufacturing compounder at Stiefel Laboratories/Glaxo Smith Kline in Oak Hill. More recently, he worked as a maintenance specialist at Universal Plastic in Howes Cave. Michael volunteered his time as a driver for the Rensselaerville Ambulance. He enjoyed camping, family time, and traveling.
Michael is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl Smith Leppig; his daughter, Shelby (Justin) Miller of Middleburgh; stepdaughters, Crystal (Jim) Liddle of Schoharie, and Michele Morgan of Acra; six grandchildren, JJ Liddle, Austen Morgan, Isaiah Morgan, Oliviana Giles, Hunter Miller, and Autumn Miller; three brothers, Fred (Maryann) Leppig of Broome Center, Paul Leppig of Ormond Beach, FL, and Steve Leppig of Coral Springs, FL; many nieces and nephews.
Michael has been cremated privately. Calling hours will be Saturday, January 6th from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Tri-Village Volunteer Fire Company, P.O.
