Obituary of Edward E. Bruchhauser
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA β Edward E. Bruchhauser, age 95, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012. Born in Queens, NY on March 14, 1917, he was one of nine children born to the late Adele and Henry Bruchhauser. His education included a diploma from Richmond Hill High School in Queens and a BA from Chaminade College in Hawaii. Mr. Bruchhauser served in the United States Army for nearly three decades and achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4, in the areas of finance and accounting. His service included action in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. In addition to loyal service to his country, Mr. Bruchhauser was also a member of the Retired Officers Association. After retiring from the Armed Forces, Mr. Bruchhauser made his home in Huntington Beach for 35 years with his wife of 60 years, Eleanor, who predeceased him in 2000. He enjoyed walking on, and fishing from, the Huntington Beach Pier, visiting friends and acquaintances around downtown, and visiting with his grandchildren. His retirement years also included frequent visits to the mountains around Albany, NY. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Steven, Margaret and Elizabeth, and was predeceased by his step-daughter, Shirlie; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; his sister, Judy, the last of his eight siblings; numerous nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, December 8 at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville. The funeral will begin at 12 noon, followed by burial with military honors in Rensselaerville Cemetery. Light a candle at ajcunninghamfh.com.
