Obituary of Susan Kathleen Haverly

 

                    Susan Kathleen Haverly, fondly known as "Aunt Whoozie" passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023 in Troy. Susan was born July 29, 1948 in Catskill to the late Ed and Margie Haverly. She is survived by her siblings, Ed Haverly (Deborah McClain), Mary Haverly, Jeffrey Haverly (Cindy), Michael Haverly (Dee), Patricia Haverly (John Cronin), as well as her beloved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nephews. Sue was predeceased by her parents, and her nephew Kevin.

                    Susan was raised in Greenville and graduated from GCS. She worked many years at McNaughton's Farm Resort, also employed by NYS Taxation, and as a home health aide for Aunt Marilyn.

                    Sue's faith was strong. She loved God and Church, singing in the choir and all things good. Her family was her greatest love. Susie loved traveling, trips to Maine, and Atlantic City with friends. Sue enjoyed trips with family to Paradox Lake and loved to swim. She loved to play the lottery, and enjoyed Bingo.

                    She was a longtime member of the Greenville American Legion Auxiliary Unit #291 and Rensselaerville Seniors.

                    Services will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church at Norton Hill, 5830 State Route 81, Greenville, on Saturday, November 25, with a Calling Hour from 10 until 11 a.m., and Memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m.  Memorial donations may be made to the Greenville American Legion Auxiliary Unit #291 or a charity of your choice.
