Obituary of James M. Moore

 

MEDUSA – James M. Moore, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 with family at his side.

          Jim was born in Catskill on December 5, 1949, a son of the late Ivan and Ethel Clickman Moore.  He graduated from Greenville Central School and Hudson Valley Community College.  Jim was an Army Veteran, serving in the 79th Engineer Battalion in Germany.  He was employed as a mechanical engineer by the former Walter Motor Company and by Atlas Copco in Voorheesville, from where he retired.  He enjoyed cars, airplanes, woodworking, wildlife, hiking, and spending time with his family.

          Jim is survived by his wife, Beverly Barkman Moore; son, James Moore (Christina); daughter, Melissa Moore; grandchildren, Lillian, Amelia, Genevieve, Caroline, Josephine, and August Moore; brother, Wesley Moore (Cindy); many nephews and nieces.

          Calling hours will be Sunday, October 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. conducted by Rev. Arlene P. Beechert.  Burial with military honors will be on Monday, October 9th at 9 a.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Community Hospice of Columbia/Greene, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, NY 12414, or to Eddy Nursing of Greene County, 159 Jefferson Heights, Catskill, NY 12414 will be appreciated.  Condolence page is available at ajcunninghamfh.com.
