Obituary of Robert J. Fancher
STAMFORD – Robert J. Fancher, 83, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Conesville on January 22, 1929, he was son of the late William and Grace Roe Fancher. Bob was a lifelong resident of Conesville, and a graduate of Gilboa-Conesville Central School. He resided at Robinson Terrace for the past 5 years. He was an Army veteran, serving during the time of the Korean War. Bob worked at the former Manorkill Creamery. He was a farmer for many years, and worked as a truck driver, last employed by Riddell Brothers. Bob rode and showed horses, and was a hunter and fisherman.
Bob is survived by three children, Diane Williams (Jim), Douglas Fancher (Connie) and Daniel Fancher (Tami); one sister, Wilma Harty; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his wife, Doris Germond Fancher; his son, Robert Randall “Randy” Fancher; his granddaughter, Marcy Fancher; brother, Preston Fancher and sister, Beverly Hubbard.
A calling hour will be Saturday, November 17 from 1 to 2 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m., followed by burial in Manorkill Rural Cemetery.
