PRESTON HOLLOW – Barbara Jean Cook Wood, 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the FASNY Fireman’s Home in Hudson.

Born in Catskill on October 9, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Dewitt and Vera Faulkner Cook. Barbara graduated from Middleburgh High School. She and her husband ran the former Knotty Pine Bar & Grill, which was known for Barbara’s home cooking. She was a wonderful cook, loving mother, most of all a kind and gentle soul. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was passionate about gardening and loved her beautiful flowers. Barbara was a member of the Oak Hill-Durham Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 58 years, Stephen W. Wood; children, Gordon Wood, Tina Wood (Kevin), and Tim Wood; grandchildren, Dominique (Tyler), Stephen, and Avary Wood; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Ava, and Jamison Wood; sister, Bonnie Bates; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Barbara was predeceased by her son Stacey, and her brother, Milton Cook.

Calling hours will be Friday, June 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Oak Hill-Durham Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be Saturday, July 1st at 12 noon at the funeral home, followed by burial in Potter Hollow Cemetery.
