Obituary of Linda A. Weaver

DELMAR – Linda A. Weaver, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a long illness. Born on November 1, 1939 in Springfield, Mass., she was daughter of the late William C. and Myrtle M. Henegar Hocker. Linda was raised and educated in Springfield. She married and raised her daughters. After her daughters were grown, she worked in banking and for Springfield Sugar Company. She married Robert Weaver in 1978 and moved to Berne. Linda was employed as a rate & tariff clerk by Yellow Freight in Albany for about 10 years. When she retired in 1992, she and her husband moved to Tennessee. Last year, she came to Delmar. Linda was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star while living in Tennessee, and she enjoyed reading and painting ceramics. Linda is survived by her daughters, Kimberly E. Salveson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Paula J. Geel of Greenville; two grandchildren, Seth and Marion Geel; a great-granddaughter, Gia Rose Geel; and several cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Weaver. In keeping with Linda’s wishes, she was cremated privately, and no services will be held. All are invited to an open house on Sunday, November 11 at 1 p.m. at Paula’s house in Greenville.
