Obituary of Doris Vedder
GREENVILLE β Doris Vedder, 60, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday August 2, 2022. She was born in Catskill on November 13, 1961 to the late Donald and Norma Armstrong. She was raised in East Durham and then lived in Norton Hill after marrying Frank Vedder. She graduated from Cairo-Durham High School in 1979, from Columbia Greene CC with an RN degree, and from University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Nursing. Doris worked as a public health nurse at Greene County Public Health. She was a member of the Durham-Oak Hill United Methodist Church, of the Greenville Quilting Club, and of the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, swimming, knitting, puzzles, and crafts.
Doris is survived by her beloved husband, Frank Vedder; her children, Angela Multari (Joe) and Lisa LaCasse (Brian); her grandchildren, Abby and Michael Multari and Francesca LaCasse; her sisters, Mary Winters, Elaine Tuner, and Marie Holland; her brother, Donald Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday August 7th from 4 to 7pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. A funeral service will be held on Monday August 8th at 10am at the Durham-Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 552 County Route 22, Durham, followed by burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
