My family met Bill and his three younger sons at a resort called High Hill Haven when the boys were very young. Bill and his boys would stay the whole summer. He and my husband, Joe Watts, became good friends. Bill being NYPD and Joe FDNY helped cement their friendship. Lo and behold how surprised we were to find Bill working at our new summer resort, Sunny Hill! Every year Joe would find Bill and they would catch up..he always had that awesome smile for us. My husband passed away In January and I just know that he and Bill are up in Heaven playing golf and catching up on old times! Rest In Peace Bill!

To Bill Hotter's family. I was deeply saddened to see that Bill had passed. Bill was the oldest of our group of friends who grew up in the Morris Park -Van Nest section of the Bronx. Bill was the only Marine in our group of Army and Air Force Vets. Bill met his wife Carol at my engagement party in July 1965. I know Bill since I was 6 years old. Sadly, there are few of us left now . May my old friend Rest in Peace and may his family be comforted in this time of mourning. Arthur Altman

Bill had a smile that could light up a room. Always on the go but always had time to stop and talk to catch up on the latest news. Generous, kind, devoted Son, Father and Grandfather to his immediate family and the same went for all who were fortunate enough to know him. Our deepest sympathy to his family and the staff at Sunny Hill who became his second family. May he rest in peace..well done thy good and faithful servant....Semper Fi.

Bill was always there for everyone. Lil' Bill in the Sunny Hill kitchen heard a sound like a freight train. The window screen blew in, he grabbed Aunt Florrie and Kaitlyn H. He threw them down out of harms way. Using his body as protection. It was an air burst, a mini tornado had hit the dinning hall/ kitchen roof. Aunt Florrie would reminisce that when she looked up, she had a man on top of her! You were always good and kind to others. You're great sense of humor will be sorely missed. We will miss your smile and the sound of your laugh.

I have a saddened heart as I read this about Bill. My condolences to his family in their loss! I got to know Awesome Bill when my quilt group had retreats at SH. Yes, we called him Awesome Bill because he was just that! Awesome! I also send my condolences to his SH family. They were an integral part of his life. I am thankful for all the joyous memories I have of Bill. There was no one better in all areas! I know Bill heard these words when the doors opened, A job well done, my faithful servant! Rest in peace, my friend!

Bill will always be our Mr. Awesome! When you became his friend, he treated you like family. I am truly blessed to have been able to call him my friend. Didn't matter if he knew you 1 minute or 50 years, he always greeted you with a smile. He will be missed by many. To his family - you were his biggest accomplishment and his pride and joy. He was so proud of ALL of you, while I never met you I feel like I know you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
