Obituary of Rebecca M. Lawrence

PRESTON HOLLOW - Rebecca M. "Becky" Lawrence, age 54, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012 in the comfort of her home. Born in Bath, Maine on April 29, 1958, she was daughter of the late Philip Ernest and Ruth Carolyn Stairs Lawrence. Becky was raised in North Carolina and Tennessee. She moved to Preston Hollow in 2004. Becky worked at Phoenix Electric in Cairo, and retired due to disability. She was an accomplished quilter, and was a member and past president of the Piecemakers of Cairo. Her most recently completed quilt won the Viewers' Choice Award at this year's Piecemakers show. Another quilt won a first prize this year at the New York State Fair. A previously scheduled show of her work, called "Art Through the Eye of a Needle", took place this past weekend at the Way-Out Gallery in Rensselaerville. In addition to quilting, Becky enjoyed gardening and cooking. Becky is survived by her domestic partner, Anthony N. "Tony" Guadagno; her sons, Scott and Patrick Rose and grand-daughter, Olivia; her step-children, Anthony Jr., Brian and Michelle and step-grandchildren, Anthony and Elana; her siblings, Linden Lawrence, Sally Nowacki, David Lawrence, Naomi Smith, Ramona Grant and Tom Lawrence; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating Becky's life on Wednesday, September 19 at 11 a.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville.
