Obituary of Paul Furyck

Paul Furyck, 86, of Albany passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022. He was born in Cementon on September 6, 1935 to the late Wasyl and Julia Furyck. He was the youngest son of their 12 children. Paul was raised in Greene County, a graduate of Catskill High School, later moving to Albany where he worked for the Department of Education as a distribution manager for 30 years until his retirement in 2007. Paul loved the theater; after he retired he worked as an usher at Proctors in Schenectady. Broadway musicals and plays brought joy to his quiet bachelor life. You could often find him at the Albany library and spending time with his friends in Cape Cod. Paul is survived by his three sisters: Julia Dennison of Kingston, Veronica Whitbeck (Earl) of Catskill, and Carol Furyck of Catskill, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was very close to his two nieces Karen White and Sheila Moon, and his very special friend John Goldstein of Albany. At Paul’s request there will be no formal services, a graveside service will be held on Friday June 3 at 2 P.M. at the family plot in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, North Jefferson Avenue, Catskill.
