Obituary of John Kuhar, Jr.

Guilderland Center, NY - John Kuhar, Jr. (88) formerly of Rensselaerville, NY passed away at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home on Sept. 8, 2012. he was born in Stratford, CT on Oct. 28, 1923 son of the late John & Suzanna (Casper) Kuhar Sr.. John was a graduate of G.C.S. and served in the US Navy during World War II. He received the American Theater, the Asiatic Pacific & Victory Medals. He was retired from Sykorski Helicopter Mfg. where he was a machinist. John was a former member of the Rensselaerville Vol. Fire Co., the Rensselaerville Rod & Gun Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing & gardening. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers: William, James & Thomas Kuhar and a nephew Michael Kuhar. Surviving is his wife Mary (Swatkowski) Kuhar, a sister Marie Bogue, nieces; Rosemarie Kuhar, Nancy Dempster, Jane Coutant, Beverly Nearhood & Susan Brace, Nephews; Barry Kuhar, Dennis & Jeffrey Bogue and sister-in-law Ann Kuhar. Funeral service will be Wed. Sept. 12 1:00pm at the A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, NY. Relatives & friends may call at the funeral home on Wed. from 12 noon to 1pm prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Rensselaerville Cemetery.
