Obituary of Glenn Payne

EAST DURHAM – Glenn Payne, 53, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 30, 1969 to the late Francis and Leta German Payne. Glenn was raised in Greenville, graduated from Greenville Central School, and has resided in East Durham for the past 10 years. He worked at Bryant’s Supermarket/Grand Union in Greenville for 23 years, then at Boat n RV Warehouse, which led to his love of camper repair to start his own business, Grampy’s Campers. Glenn enjoyed fishing, listening to live music, anything with a motor, and sports (Go Steelers!). There is nothing he loved more than spending time with his family. He was one of a kind; a caring and hardworking man who could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He was a great friend to anyone he met. Glenn is survived by his wife of 30 years, Denise Payne; two daughters, Stephanie (Liam) Lonergan, and Ashley Payne; his grandson, Christian Joseph Hesch, Jr.; his brother, Gerald Payne; and his father in law, Norman Berkner.
