Obituary of Robert P. Hagen

SELKIRK – Robert Patrick Hagen “Fluff”, 51, went to be with his heavenly family on Friday, November 5, 2021. Robert was born in St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany on May 22, 1970. He resided in Selkirk with his beautiful, devoted, and care giving wife of 18 years, Christine Bradway Hagen. Racing was Robert’s livelihood. He joined the Flach and Tremont family racing teams, where he was fondly known as “Fluff”. Robert helmed the garage and smiled the biggest smile while his team went full-speed-ahead. He truly loved his racing family like his own family. Robert worked as a parts distributor at Elmo’s Speed and Supply in Burnt Hills. Robert was a devoted husband, son, grandson, unkie, brother, nephew, cousin, and a great friend to all that knew him. He was a generous, trustworthy, kind, loyal, and full of good cheer guy. Robert talked to anyone and everyone; his smile lit up every room. Robert’s faith helped him hold on, even though he was sick. In his last days of life, he was extremely grateful for everyone and every day he was alive. Robert is survived by his beautiful, devoted wife Christine; his mother, Donna (Kenneth VanAlstyne) Hagen; his sister, Michelle (Irwin) Hagen; his paternal grandmother, Jeanette Hagen; his loving in-laws, Ed and Bonita Bradway; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Susan O’Malley, Lee (Angela) Bradway, Billy (Christine) Bradway; many nieces and nephews, Kali (Zach) Hoffman, Jillian Hagen, Mackenzie and Kolton O’Malley, Adiranna (“Booger”), Charlotte (Charlie) Bradway, Alex and Austin Bradway.
