Obituary of Jennis J. Stalter

EARLTON - Jennis John Stalter passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 1, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jennis is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Wylam Stalter; his 5 children and their spouses, Emma Stalter (Meghan), Jennis Stalter (Wendy), Ethan Stalter (Reesie), Mary Ellen Stalter (Anthony), and Christine Young; his 14 grandchildren, Loretta, Logan, Martin, Aidan, Lilly, Grace, Emmaline, Charlotte, Artie, Alden, Archer, Caoilinn, James, and Ryan; his sisters, Diana Andrews (Christopher) and Patricia Walters (Roger); many nieces and nephews. Jennis is predeceased by his parents, John and Patricia Stalter. Jennis was born on June 24, 1955 in Cornwall, NY to John and Patricia Stalter. Jennis graduated from Cornwall Central High School in 1973. After graduating, Jennis started working for the NYS Thruway in 1973, where he worked for the next 37 years and retired as a proud Heavy Equipment Operator. Jennis married his wife, Nancy on October 30, 1976. Jennis was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. Jennis spent his time learning about his heritage, and made many connections with extended family over the years. Jennis was a devoted Christian and loved his church family. Jennis had many connections in the community, and enjoyed frequenting local eateries on a regular basis. Jennis enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren. Jennis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all that knew him. A remembrance will be held at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Cairo.
