Obituary of George C. DeWitt

CATSKILL - George Clark DeWitt, 64 years, formerly of Journey's End Farm in Oak Hill, went on unexpectedly, on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at his residence, to be with his mother Hilda, who was proudly devoted to George and John DeWitt, his father. George was a graduate of Greenville Central School. He served his country in the US Army, in the Dept. of Defense. Following his time in the military, George went on to teach art at SUNY New Paltz. George is survived by his sister, Elizabeth DeWitt Nicholsen, his brother-in-law, Gary Nicholsen, both of Freehold; his niece, Brenda Reyes and nephew, Aaron Bowman, both of California. Also surviving are George's two aunts, Letha Gallt and Angelina Dederick both of Albany. As to his wishes George was cremated and his ashes will be placed in the family cemetery in Oak Hill.
