LEEDS - Agnes M. Byrne, 81 years, of Leeds, formerly of East Durham, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 in the Albany Medical Center Hospital. She was born in the Bronx on Nov. 22, 1930, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Mellett) Coleman. Agnes married Lawrence J. Byrne on Aug. 18, 1951 and together they raised eight children. She was a member of Our Lady of Knock Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the East Durham Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Agnes was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Agnes was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence in 2008, two sons, John and Dennis Byrne, two sisters, Anna-May Coleman and Frances Camerino and a brother, Wilbur Coleman. Surviving are her six children, Eileen, Lawrence, Timothy, Kathleen, Michael and Christopher Byrne, fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers, Norman and John Coleman and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be from the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, NY 12083 at 9:15 on Saturday, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of Knock Shrine, East Durham, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery.
