Obituary of Olga Delores Conway

EAST DURHAM – Olga Delores Conway, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 23, 2021. She was born on August 14, 1932 to the late John D. Thomas and Sally Kathleen Shores Thomas. Delores was raised in Cartersville, VA and graduated from McGaheysville High School. She moved to New York City, then to the Catskills, in Leeds for several years, in Cornwallville for 40 years, and the last three years in Tuscany Meadows, East Durham. Delores was a homemaker and decorator, mother and caregiver. She enjoyed working in her yard growing plants, antiquing, dancing, and playing the spoons. Delores is survived by her children, Geraldine A. McGuire of Vero Beach, FL, Debby Hall of Bradenton, FL, Mary Ellen Conway of East Durham, James S. Conway of Athens, and Kathleen Conway Sharkey of PA; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Cornelius Bottomley of Cartersville, VA. She was predeceased by her husband, Jerome J. Conway. Calling hours will be Sunday, September 26th from 1 to 5 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville. Delores will then be cremated privately.
