Obituary of Louise M. Van Tassel

Louise M. Van Tassel, age 92 of Saratoga Springs, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday June 19, 2021. Born June 26, 1928 in Greycourt, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry F. Decker and Margaret A. Muir. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond D. Van Tassel. Louise held a deep and abiding love for “her Catskill Mountain”. She was an avid reader with a particular interest in history, and a prolific writer of poems, which she enjoyed sharing with her family. She devoted many years to her favorite pastime as an amateur genealogist and was a major contributor to the Van Tassel family genealogy book. She is survived by her daughters, Roberta Buff (Bernard), Shirley Valestin (Robert), and Lillian Van Tassel; grandchildren, Roberta Ferraioli (Andrew), Bernard Buff Jr. (Cathleen), Marianne Pierro (Steven), Raymond, Matthew, and Mark Buff, and Jennifer Archambault (Michael); great-grandchildren, Justin Ferraioli (Anita), Maeve, Anika and Celeste Buff, Michael and Thomas Pierro, Alexis Keegan (Gerald), Elizabeth, Julianne, Carolyn, Zachary, Jeanette, and Nicholas Archambault; great-great-granddaughter, Lena Ferraioli; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Francis, Chester, James, Corcelia, and Roberta. All services will be private. She will then be interred at the Potter Hollow Cemetery.
